I am a lover of all things netball except having to umpire always left me paralysed with anxiety. What if I made a mistake? What if I got a call wrong? Umpiring the school netball team felt as important to me as the World Cup! This lack of confidence and self-doubt hindered my ability to enjoy the experience of umpiring. It became all about me rather than supporting my terrific team to play and learn.

When I realised that it was MY thoughts and words that caused me all this angst when I was younger, I was thrilled. I can interrupt the negative thought spiral with this innovative course before it derails our young officials, so they can thrive, love their umpiring, develop their leadership skills and stay in the game.

I am passionate about empowering young people and equipping them with the necessary tools and mindset to navigate the complexities of the sports field, as a player and/or an official. Giving them strategies to help them face challenges and thrive on their unique, sporting journey is a win. Having netball umpires stay in the game and become high performers is a win win! 🏐🏐 🏐

You will clearly see the impact that the concepts presented in this course will have on young netball umpires. If they can grasp these ideas early on, they can truly enjoy their role and stay committed to the game. Witnessing the positive changes in my own life motivates me to empower the next generation, encouraging them to embrace challenges and excel in both sport and life.
